How I feel About 13 Reasons Why Season 3 | Why it's important?
Hey everyone! Today once again I'm talking about Tv again! I haven't done a post like this in a long time. I recently binged 13 reasons why and I thought I would share my thoughts! I know this topic is hot all over social media wether if that be good or bad. I know everyone has their own thoughts on the show....
so if this is something you can't handle or don't want to hear maybe this post isn't for you! Anyways let's get into it! I also just want to add that I have done several videos on 13 reasons why which I will link at the end of this blog!

I overall like this season. I've enjoyed every season so far, but I think this season would have to be my favorite. I thought the storytelling of this season was well done. I feel like each character had a good, powerful arc this season. I feel like this is the kind of show that I can't stop watching because I always want to know what happens as fast as possible. I just wan to mention that I think the show does a good job with it's disclaimers. There is a huge disclaimer mentioned at the beginning of each season before the episode starts and then prior to every episode they have a disclaimer to warn viewers. They also have a good website with lots of resources for help if your to need it. So be sure to check that out.
I just want to say as I get into the content of the 13 episode's that this is in no way a recap of the episodes. This is solely my reactions and opinions of the episodes. I feel as if each season had it's own theme. Season 1 was all about Hannah and finding out what happened to her. It was about her story being told. It was about the people around her finding it out. It was kind of the beginning of the story. Season two was about getting justice for Hannah and to expose what Bryce did. It was getting to know Hannah more, but also I would call season 2 "court" like. We had some court scenes in every episode. As for this season I think the theme of Justice did carry over, but in a different way. I also think activism played an important role. I also feel as if each character was represented very well in each episode. I feel like this season was very powerful. We saw a lot of characters grow.
I loved seeing Jessica take on activism. I always felt like she was a strong character. I think in the first season I didn't like her as much as I do now. I think she just had this stereotype as the "popular girl" and that was a turn off. Over these three seasons though Jessica has shown both her strength and vulnerability. There were a few scenes that really stood out to me for her. The first one being the protest at the football game. The paint on their bodies telling the boys to "take their hands off their bodies" Their stand at the homecoming game was so powerful. I've never been in the situation where i've been raped, but as a viewer I found that very powerful. I think for many woman that was a powerful scene that speaks for us all. I also really like her speech in the gym where she then inspires other students to stand up and show that they are all survivors. That scene was super powerful in the way that all these students were standing up together. We saw girls, guys, and all people stand up. It was also amazing to see her journey throughout the episodes. We saw her thrive and struggle throughout the whole season and it was interesting to see that.
I feel like we also got a lot from Clay this season. First off I just want to mention how much I love the brother bond between Clay and Justin. This season we saw Clay's parents start the process of adopting Justin. Justin has had such a traumatic touch life so to see him have some support is something that I think is powerful for a lot of kids that might be in the foster system, or even just people that have had a tougher up-bringing. I love the brotherhood of Clay and Justin. I love how in the beginning of the series they weren't close at all. They didn't even like each other. Actually it's funny when Justin says it took me 8 years to like Clay. It's funny how they came about being family after not liking each other for as long as 8 years. You can see though that they look out for each other like brothers and I think the writers really wrote this in super well. I feel like this was the kind of friendship that the show was needing. I can't even imagine the show without it, and I can't wait to see more of it next season. I felt for Justin and all his pain this season. I wan to see him clean next season and working on himself.
Now as for Cloe. We got to see her first in the season 2 premiere. I never particularly liked Cloe. As for this season I know we didn't see her much. I feel like what was seen was very powerful on her part. As we all know that Cloe is Pregnant by the end of season 2. We saw her switch to a catholic school in the flash forward. Prior to all that we saw her decide to have an abortion. I feel like this is such a touchy subject because everyone has their own opinion on the subject. I found this scene was very hard to watch. It was sad, but just as realistic as I imagine they made it was hard to watch and listen to. I think it's important to see this in a show because it exposes something that isn't seen much, but it was hard. I wish the show would of explored multiple options and explored that.

I want to briefly discuss Tyler. Tyler went through a lot this season. At the end of last season we saw him at the school with the guns and Clay and Tony covering him with that. Tyler's assault which i believe happened in season 1 was disclosed this season to several characters. I felt like it was important to show a male abuse story because that is not shown much on tv. Everything Tyler went through was sad to see, but his story of how he overcame everything he went through goes so much further. And Monty is so disgusting for what he did. We will talk about that later.
As for Tony I can't let his story not be said. Tony's story this season was both sad and powerful. I know I'm using the word powerful a lot, but a lot of the moments from this season are powerful. There is so much in this season. Tony's brothers and parents were deported this season. We saw his life almost crumble. It was sad to see this story, but this something that is happening every day as we speak. This is a story that is happening so much right now, and it is completely heart breaking. I can't believe it but it is a reality. This was a story that needed to be told. I hope it goes so much further in season 4.
Now we've come to the part where I will briefly talk about Monty and Bryce. Both of these boys are equally disgusting. It was sickening at the end of the season 2 finale that Justin got 6 months for witnessing the rape, but Bryce being white privilege got 3. Bryce was uncovered this season. We got a lot of background on his life. It all started in the beginning of this season when he was missing and then later found dead in a river. I will talk about the conclusion soon. As for Monty he was just as disgusting. I feel like Monty did what he did because of his upbringing and also because of the fact that he was in the closet. I want to think that are good in every person, but Monty just wasn't that for me as well as Bryce. I want to think that he could have had good in him and been reformed, but after assaulting dozens of women i don't know about that.
Now for the conclusion How did Bryce die? Bryce dying was like oh yeah a terrible man is dead! Then as the season went on and we found out more about the case it was kinda sad. I kinda started to feel sympathy for him. He was first attacked by Zach, but then hours later Alex and Jessica show up. Alex pushes Bryce into the water. Monty was ultimately blamed from his killing and oddly by that point he had been killed in prison. So he went to his grave looking guilty. I mean Monty kinda deserved it. The big thing of it all is Mont's secret "lover" whatever you want to call him told Jessica,Justin, and Clay that Monty was with him and they all know he didn't do it. So it raises questions if that secret will come out in season 4 if there will be a re-opening of the case.

Ani oh Ani!
Yes let's talk Ani. I will admit that I don't really care for Ani. I don't like her character, She became the voice of this season. I don't really know why I don't like her. I just found her annoying. She was to call everyone out on their shit, but she couldn't take anything. I also feel like she was super hypocritical. I just really didn't care for her. I feel like she blamed everyone. I don't really know what to say on her.
As for Clay being accused of Killing Bryce. That was a hard one. I feel like that was a cop out. It was kinda seen as coming. It was an obvious choice. I didn't care for it. There isn't much to say on that. I thought that it was a dumb move!
THE CLIFFHANGER OF THEM ALL! YES OH YES THEY WENT THERE. The guns that Clay and Tony destroyed were found in a ocean by a guy. I'm so curious on how that will play out.

Let'd end this off on a high and talk about my favorite moment of season three. My favorite moment of this season is at the very end of episode thirteen. It was when Clay, Justin, and Jessica were sitting all together at the coffee cafe. I love when Justin put his arms around Clay and Jessica and said " I love you guys!!" I mean his line was something like that. I loved that part! I loved the love in that scene. That full end moment showed how much they support each other. It showed how even they are all family.
As for season next season. I don't know what to expect or what I want. I would like to see more powerful moments. I would like to see more of Justin and Jessica because I do like them. I would also like to see more of the brotherhood moments. I think there is a lot to come and next season will sadly be the last.
