My 2020 Goals! | Goal setting tips! | Katiexobeauty + more!
Happy new year everyone! I'm so happy it is 2020! I just love the feeling of the new year and starting off fresh. Also happy new decade! I'm so excited to be sharing my new year's goals with you! I prefer to call them goals rather than resolutions because I think the word "goals" has less pressure to it. Goals are something that is more of a gradual process and something that can always change. I also find that I make goals regularly throughout the year. I'm sharing my goals with you today, but I would as always love to hear about yours in the comments down below! I also will be giving my tips when setting goals. I have learned a lot throughout my life about goals and am so excited to inspire others when making goals!
Anyways let's get into it!
2020 Goals
1. Work on my mental health!
This year I really want to make it a priority to work on my mental health. I'm very happy with who I am as a person, but there is always room for improvement. I can be anxious sometimes, and sometimes I don't have the greatest of days. I know that is completely ok. I just want to work on me mentally in order to be an overall healthier person. I know working on all this will help me be an overall happier person and I will be able to enjoy whatever this year throws at me.
I'm not sure what working on my mental health means or what it will look like, but I'm willing to try different things. I may talk to someone, or I may practice meditation more. I also may journal lots. This is for sure more personal to me, but I'm ready to tackle it. I also want to just add more positivity in my life and I know I can do it.
2. Read more
I feel like this is something I say a lot. Over these 10 semesters of college from community college to my current undergrad college, I know I have read. I have read a lot, but I'm really striving this year to read more for pleasure. Reading is really something that I enjoy! There's nothing better than picking up a good book and really diving into the story. I used to really get into books and I remember loving that. I just want to feel that again.
I'm really going to make an effort these next 3-4 weeks that I have left of break to read. I think it could also really help with my anxiety. I feel like those two goals complement each other which will really help me out! Do you read? Leave your book recommendations down below!
Goal setting tips
1. set relevant goals
Think of you! Think of what you want to accomplish! Goals are so personal because what works for you may not work for Sally. Things you should consider are what you have going on, what's coming up, personality. It might seem silly, but just take a step back and think about what you would do.
2. Set achievable goals!
I know this may seem negative in a way, but setting realistic achievable goals. I feel like lots of people set goals to work out more, eat healthier, and although those are great goals they can also be unrealistic. Think about things that seem possible and set your mind to it. I mean, of course, you can do whatever you want if you set your mind to it, and see it out with your heart, but sometimes too ambitious of goals isn't the best.
I also sometimes like to set goals that are easier because it gives me the inspiration to accomplish harder goals. There is no wrong answer when setting your own goals!
3. write your goals out
It's easier said than done, or I guess in this case it is easier written than done. It's easy to say that your going to do this and that, but I have found if I don't write it out then I don't do it. I'm a big believer in journaling! In fact, would 100% 10/10 recommend getting yourself a journal for the year and writing out your goals! I always like to start off with a new journal because the first page can be my goals and that way it gets me going to write more throughout the year! You may write more than you expect or not, but having that new journal is so useful. I tend to use mine for lists and planning videos so no notebook never goes to waste.
