My College Regrets | Katiexobeauty

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for taking the time to read today's blog post! Today I wanted to discuss my college regrets! I briefly mentioned some of these in a chatty get ready with me, but I thought it would be informative to talk about them in today's blog post!

I know for me personally, I have regrets when it comes to college. I'm not ashamed of them one bit. I think at a point I might have been ashamed of mistakes, but now I've learned to move past them and trust the journey that I'm on.

So let's talk regrets

1. Not taking advantage of summer classes

I didn't take summer classes until I transferred schools and I regret not doing them sooner. I especially regret not doing them at community college and getting ahead with my schooling. I wish I took advantage of getting certain classes out of the way. I also wish I could have gotten my AA in 1 year or a year and a half instead of 2.5. I think summer and winter classes would have helped me with that. It's a minor regret and my advice to any new college student is to take summer classes if you can because it is worth it especially if you have a major that requires lots of credits.

2. Not experimenting with different major classes

If you didn't know my major was general studies since I was undecided for the first 2.5 years at my community college. I debated between education and nursing and physical therapy assistant. I wish I was able to try out different major classes. I just think for me it would have helped me find my major a lot easier. I also think If I would have I may have been more inclined to change my major before transferring. I more so in this case just wish I was allowed to try out different major classes.

3.  Not Getting active in campus clubs as much

I didn't get as active in clubs. I joined one with a friend at the time junior year right when I transferred, but I wasn't active in it. My second year I joined another, but again I wasn't active. I wish I really got that club experience with making friends in these clubs and having that typical experience.

4. Not always making friends in classes

This is something I more so notice during my 2 years at community college. I mean I didn't really make many friends in classes. I think I did somewhat, but I think that experience was a lot different. I made some of my first semester and then my last and some in between. Also when it comes to then my university I find that I made more. Especially senior year I made some, especially in my English major classes. It made me feel like I had a place and even though I didn't have this in all of my years in college I'm happy I got to have a little bit of it.

The thing about regrets though is that you shouldn't have them, at least that's what society says. I feel live having regrets isn't a bad thing because we all have some regrets in life or wish things went another way. It's ok to look back and be like yeah... I wish I would have done this rather than that.

I'm ultimately happy where I'm at and I know my regrets are part of where I am.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog and be sure to leave your regrets down bellow. I think it would be cool to see other opinions if you feel comfortable sharing!

Thanks so much for ready

XOXO -Katie
